Veteran libero Jheck Dionela admits it was tough, but she believes that certain life choices must be made. One of those choices was leaving the Cignal HD Spikers after an 11-year tenure.
Jheck described her life as “a series of redirections,” and her recent move is yet another example of this journey.
“Change is inevitable. Life demands us to evolve, kaya I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason,” she said.
The former HD spiker, now with the Farm Fresh Foxies, shared that the decision and the emotions surrounding it felt familiar. Jheck recalled that it reminded her of the time she transitioned from the now-defunct Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns to Cignal more than a decade ago.
“Like what happened when I moved from Cagayan to Cignal—it was a hard decision, but it had to be made. Eleven years later, here we are. Ganun lang naman ‘yun.”
In the end, the floor defense expert believes that the significant shift ultimately comes down to one thing: growth.
“I think, deep down, I knew I needed to step out of my comfort zone or else I will be the same version of last year. So yeah, I’m seeking growth,” she confessed.
Jheck is suiting up for the six-month-long Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference, this time donning a new uniform—a fresh beginning for a heart that yearns.
