Mixture of overseas, local talent brings out the best in Makati FC girls

The perfect mix of global experience and homegrown talent has paid dividends for the Makati FC girl’s team.

This approach has made the club currently dominate Ang Liga, where Makati FC has reached the final of the U19 tournament.

They beat Tuloy FC, 4-1, with Cebuana Yona De La Calzada and Thai Kawinthida Kikuntod each scoring a brace.

The team will play Beach Hut FC for all the marbles at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the new MOA Football Pitch.

By giving young players access to top-level talent, the club not only enhanced the local talents’ technical skills but also elevated their overall game.

This approach isn’t just about winning domestically—it’s about preparing athletes for the global stage.

Last year, Makati FC’s girls U12 team became the first Filipino youth squad to play against England’s top football academy clubs.

It was also the same Girls 12 (2012) squad that ruled in the Gothia World Youth Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden—the largest youth tournament in the world with over 1,500 teams from 80 different countries.

Over the past three years, Makati FC has also seen success in the JSSL, Asia’s largest youth tournament.
