Luka Dončić is making noticeable changes this offseason, starting with his physique.
The five-time NBA All-Star appears slimmer and more conditioned as he trains at Real Madrid, where he played for three seasons before entering the NBA.
Photos and videos recently posted show Dončić in the gym, looking trimmer than he did during the Los Angeles Lakers’ playoff exit against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

NBA insider Jason Gallagher said on The Dumb Zone podcast that Dončić is “changing a lot about himself,” signaling a renewed focus as he transitions into life with the Lakers.
Luka Doncic’s Conditioning Plans:
“Luka has already begun to Clean Slate.
Starting Anew. Changing A Lot about himself.
Now I’ve heard this before – but not from specific people who have been critical of him.”

Dončić’s fitness has long been a point of contention. Reports noted that he started the 2024–25 season relatively lean but later ballooned to the high 260s. Injuries—ranging from groin and knee problems to a Christmas Day calf strain—may have impacted his ability to stay in top shape.
It’s unclear whether poor conditioning contributed to the injuries or vice versa, but what’s evident now is Dončić’s commitment to bouncing back. Following a tumultuous season that included an unexpected trade from Dallas to Los Angeles, Dončić seems intent on returning to MVP form.
