UST Growling Tigers captain Nic Cabañero expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt Instagram post less than a week after earning his marketing management degree from the university.
Cabañero, who graduated on June 13 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion, thanked his coaches, teammates, professors, family, and girlfriend for their support throughout his four-year journey at UST.
“Finally, I made it. ,” he wrote. “This diploma carries every ounce of sacrifice, discipline, love, and faith.”

On his graduation day, the UAAP Season 87 Mythical 5 member confirmed his decision to stay with UST, announcing he will pursue a master’s degree to maintain his eligibility for Season 88.
“One last dance. Let’s get it, Season 88 ,” he added.
Cabañero is fresh off his best UAAP season yet, posting averages of 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.9 steals in 30.2 minutes per game in Season 87. He capped the season with a Mythical Five selection and helped UST secure a bronze medal finish.
The 21-year-old also graduated from the UST College of Commerce and Business Administration during the university’s rites on June 13 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion.
