Coach Chot on SMB’s Game 2 win: They wanted it more

San Miguel Beer pulled even in the PBA Philippine Cup Finals with a gritty 98-92 victory over TNT Tropang 5G in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

TNT head coach Chot Reyes admitted his team was simply outworked.

“They wanted the game more than we did, and we lost in the effort department,” Reyes said in an ambush interview with DWAR Abante Radyo’s Zeus Valdez.

The Tropang 5G also dealt with a string of injuries, as Simon Enciso, Poy Erram, and Roger Pogoy were all hurt during the game.

San Miguel’s win came just two days after a controversial Game 1 loss, where Moala Tautuaa’s go-ahead dunk was nullified late due to basket interference.

When asked if that controversy gave the Beermen extra motivation, Reyes replied: “Hindi ko alam, you have to ask them.”
