Four Premier Volleyball League (PVL) squads, led by fan favorite Creamline Cool Smashers, have safely arrived in Iloilo City on Thursday evening ahead of this weekend’s PVL on Tour matches at the City of Passi Arena.
According to a post by Gametime Sports, which is organizing the event, the Cool Smashers, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, and Cignal HD Spikers touched down in Iloilo at around 8 p.m.
“We are glad that the four teams have arrived here in Iloilo City safe, knowing that may bagyo,” said Gametime Sports founder Rodolfo Go Villaruz in an interview with Fastbreak. “Our Ilonggo fans are very excited to meet their PVL idols.”
Villaruz noted that this isn’t the first time Gametime has brought regular PVL games to the province.
“We are thankful to the PVL for always bringing the action here in Iloilo. Iloilo is a volleyball-loving province, and there are also several PVL players who are from here,” he said.
“Playing PVL matches here also inspires the younger Ilongga volleybelles to strive harder and achieve their dreams of playing in the big leagues in the future,” he added.
The Saturday double-header will feature the Thunderbelles against the Cool Smashers at 4 p.m., followed by the Crossovers vs. HD Spikers match at 6:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the HD Spikers will face the Thunderbelles at 4 p.m., while Creamline and Chery Tiggo collide in the main game at 6:30 p.m.
