TNT Tropang 5G guard Almond Vosotros remains committed to staying ready for any opportunity in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup Finals against the San Miguel Beermen.
The veteran sharpshooter, a former De La Salle Green Archer, admitted he doesn’t expect consistent minutes but is focused on being prepared whenever coach Chot Reyes calls his number.
“Siguro, for me, being ready all the time. Alam ko na kailangan kong maging ready every game kasi tatawagin ako ni coach Chot kapag kailangan,” Vosotros told DWAR Abante Radyo sports reporter Zeus Valdez.
Vosotros also recalled Reyes’ earlier remarks on why he was brought back to the 5×5 roster from TNT’s 3×3 team.
“Alam ko ‘yung role ko sa team. Like kung natatandaan niyo ‘yung sinabi dati ni coach Chot in my first game na kaya niya ako pinabalik dito dahil may konti akong kapal ng mukha,” he said in jest.
In Game 3, Vosotros provided a much-needed spark off the bench, tallying 14 points with four three-pointers in under 12 minutes, even as TNT absorbed a 108-88 loss and fell behind 1-2 in the best-of-seven series.
“I’ve been with TNT for seven years, so I think experience and confidence are already there. Sayang lang, na-short sa hangin kanina,” the 35-year-old guard added.
Looking ahead to Game 4 on Sunday, Vosotros pointed out that minimizing turnovers will be crucial after TNT committed 18 turnovers in Game 3.
“‘Yun nga ‘yung laging binabanggit ni coach. Sa Games 1 and 2 ang dami naming turnovers. Siguro we need to work on that kasi di bale nang matira namin kaysa ma-turnover.”
TNT now faces a must-win scenario to keep their Grand Slam hopes alive.
