Lassiter on elbowing Enciso: ‘No intention to hurt anyone’

San Miguel Beer sharpshooter Marcio Lassiter clarified there was no intent to hurt TNT’s Simon Enciso after a physical play during Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals last Friday.

The Beermen cruised to a 108-88 win, but the game saw tense moments, including an incident where Enciso went down after catching an elbow from Lassiter during a drive to the basket.

The play resulted in a technical foul on the San Miguel veteran.

In an interview with Zeus Valdez of DWAR Abante Radyo Sports, Lassiter explained the contact was unintentional.

“I went for a layup; you guys kind of saw what happened,” he said. “I’m not that kind of player, as you guys know.”

“If you want me to keep explaining, I can—but there’s no intention to hurt anyone out here,” Lassiter added.

The Beermen now hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series heading into Game 4 on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
