63 firearms, various drugs seized after Russell County, Phenix City authorities execute search warrants in Fort Mitchell area

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor addressed media members on Wednesday morning and discussed a major drug and gun bust that happened on Tuesday.

The Sheriff says the SWAT team, along with the help of the Phenix City Police Department, was able to execute search warrants Tuesday morning at five different locations in the Fort Mitchell area.

"As you can see, yesterday was a successful day," said Heath, as he opened the press conference.

Heath also said that various drugs and items were seized in the bust, with 1.67 pounds of cocaine, 2.2 pounds of marijuana, 97 hydrocodone pills, 63 firearms, and three vehicles were recovered in the search.

The execution teams searched 80 Bradley Road, lots 1, 2 and 3, along with 44 Bradley Road, and 34 Sweetwater Branch Road.

"The coordination to hit that many locations at one time is extreme," Heath expressed. "We worked really well, and closely with the Phenix City Police Department and there tact team

The suspect is reportedly known to law enforcement and has been in the community, according to Heath.
