COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- Good Friday morning! We're starting off on a cloudy and damp note, with temperatures near 70° and a few light showers still lingering. That light rain should start to taper off shortly after daybreak, but clouds and humid conditions will stick around through the morning. By midday, expect a mix of sun and clouds.
This afternoon and evening brings another chance for isolated showers or storms, but nothing as widespread or heavy as what we saw yesterday. Tonight, any remaining showers should clear out completely. Clouds and some patchy fog are likely to develop overnight and into early Saturday.
A stalled cold front—the one that brought us this much-needed rain—will finally push through the area. Morning clouds on Saturday will quickly give way to a mix of sun and clouds by the afternoon. Looking ahead to Sunday, we'll start off with more seasonable with temperatures in the mid 60s and mostly sunny skies by the afternoon.
In the extended forecast, we're keeping an eye on a tropical wave that's expected to become Tropical Storm Imelda later today. It will likely bring rough surf and some outer rainbands to south Florida and along the Georgia coast by Sunday.
