Seasonal temps, breezy afternoons & potential for rain this weekend

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- Good Wednesday morning! A few clouds have drifted into the region to start the day, but most of us are waking up to mostly sunny skies with temperatures sitting comfortably in the mid to upper 60s.

Through the morning and into the afternoon, expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s. It'll be a bit breezy this afternoon, with gusts up to 20 mph out of the northeast.

Tonight looks mostly clear and seasonably cool, with lows dipping into the low 60s. Thursday kicks off with that crisp fall feel—plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures in the afternoon.

Friday starts off quiet and pleasant, but clouds will gradually increase as a weak tropical low approaches. That system will bring a chance of showers into the second half of the weekend.

By Sunday and into early next week, a few showers are likely. Rainfall totals remain uncertain due to model discrepancies, but for now, we're looking at the potential for up to one inch.

Temperature-wise, highs should stay near seasonal averages through the rest of the week and into early next week.
