Lampake sa pera! LeBron James admits title chase behind Philly move

LeBron James said his decision to continue playing in the NBA and sign with the Philadelphia 76ers came after weeks of reflection, insisting his choice was driven by his desire to compete for another championship rather than money or personal considerations.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, James admitted he initially believed he had played the final game of his career after the season ended.

“I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game,” James said.

The four-time NBA champion said he needed time away from basketball to determine whether he still had the passion to continue playing.

“I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game. I still truly love this game, and I have more to give,” he added.

James described the past several weeks as a rare opportunity to step back from basketball and evaluate the next chapter of his career with the support of his loved ones.

“The last few weeks have really been special. I’ve never been able to have no clue what to do and take real time to just think. I’ve had an incredible few months with all the people I love trying to figure it all out.”

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer said his decision to join the 76ers was not motivated by financial gain or family circumstances but by his desire to continue making sacrifices in pursuit of another title.

“This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point?” James said.

“I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.”

James said he believes he can help Philadelphia contend for the NBA title and is looking forward to beginning the next chapter of his career with the franchise.

“I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time,” he said.

James ended his message by thanking the cities that played major roles throughout his NBA career.

“Thank you LA. Miami I’ll forever love and Northeast Ohio will always home!” he said. (AC)
