CBCP Archbishop Socrates wishes Husband, Father of Bulacan massacre to 'Forget and Forgive'

Manila, Philippines- The Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Archbishop Socrates  Villegas has published a pastoral letter asking Dexter Carlos and surviving family members of Bulacan massacre to forgive and forget the heinous crime the suspect have done. 

In the letter sent to Catholic parishes, Villegas said that there might be a valid reason why the suspect did such unthinkable things to the victims.

Villegas said " Dexter Carlos, the father should "forgive the suspects and forget the sad moment".

"God has his own reason why he allowed Ibanez and other suspects to take the lives of the victims. God has also the reason why he makes Mr. Carlos suffer. Only God knows his own reason. The only thing we can do is to forgive and forget. Hurting Mr. Ibanez is another sin." Villegas said.

Villegas also ask people not to judge the suspect and ask authorities to provide the "innocent Ibanez" chance to defend himself.

In addition, Villegas said Mr. Ibanez should be given chance to defend himself. The death penalty is not a solution. We cannot afford to lose another innocent soul.
