3,000 Scholars of La Verdad Christian School & College, "Study Now, Pay Never"

Statistics from Department of Education and National Statistical Coordination Board in the Philippines, 1 out of 6 Filipino kids is unable to attend school due to poverty. Furthermore, 7 out of 10 will be able to graduate in grade school, 4 in highschool and from that 4, 1 can only step into a univesity or college.

However, this statistics can be change if only there those kind-hearted people or organizations who will pave the way for students and help them throughout their schooling.

A school called La Verdad Christian School and College is currently in a mission to help 3,000 poor students to finish their studies. For this year, the school is offering free education to all levels of studies -  elementary, secondary and even college.

One of the lucky scholars is Raquel, the eldest daughter of Mary Grace Evaristo. Mary Grace is a solo parent who is the only one providing for her two children.

The school's scholarship program is open to all poor and unfortunate familes and students who are willing to finish their studies and work hard to achieve their dreams.

From the tuition fee, miscellaneous, books, lunch and even the uniform is free for all of their full scholars.

"Ang aming banner, 'Study now, pay never'. Mag-aral ka, pagbutihan mo lang pag-aaral. Libre, yun. Kase ito ay nagmula sa advocacy ni Bro. Eli at saka ni kapatid na Daniel na makapagbigay ng quality education to poor but deserving students," Luzviminda Cruz stated, School Administrator of LVCC, Apalit.

Aside from the free education offered at the school, reports claim that the parents choose to send their school to LVCC for its reputation in molding good characteristics to students.

"Yung disiplina, talagang pinapatupad nya yung policy, yung disiplina, yung maging Christian way para lumaki syang may takot sa Diyos," Isaias Marin said, a scholar's guardian.

"Although malaking emphasis yung binibigay namin doon sa academic excellence, pero just the same, kailangan din na merong values formation din sa kanila," Johna Bautista stated, a school administrator.

Founded by Eli Soriano and Daniel Razon in 1998, La Verdad Christian College is a private non-stock non-sectarian educational institution established in Apalit, Pampanga, Philippines. It is the first private school in the Philippines that grants scholarship programs to deserving students by providing tuition-free education and no miscellaneous fees.

At present, La Verdad Christian College holds the title as the only educational institution that provides free uniforms, instructional materials and meals since 2009.

In 2010, the college established its first branch in Caloocan City which eventually becomes the main branch of the institution. The year 2011 pave its way to establish its foreign campuses in Ghana and Liberia countries both in Africa.
