Children are prone to accidents which is why adults are always advised to supervise them in everything they do. However, there are inevitable moments wherein children are left without any adults looking after them. In most cases of unsupervised children, an accident befalls them and they are hurt – or worse – killed.
Such was the fate of this 2-year-old girl from China who suffered a terrible accident that put an end to her brief life.
A little girl named “Li Li” went to play with her playmates in the residential building where she and her family lived. At the time, her grandmother was the one looking after her in their apartment unit. Li Li’s grandmother noticed that the 2-year-old girl was missing from their unit.

She asked the help of the building security staff to look for her granddaughter but to no avail. Unfortunately, they were too late. They only found Li Li when they discovered her lifeless body on the first floor of the apartment building.
Based on CCTV footage taken inside one of the elevators, Li Li was seen playing with two other kids, a boy and a girl. The three of them took the elevator to one of the building’s floors when suddenly, the 5-year-old boy carried Li Li back inside the elevator and pushed the button assigned to the 17th floor.
In the footage, Li Li can be seen pounding on the door, seemingly scared of being alone inside. When the elevator doors finally opened, she hurried outside.
No one saw what happened next. The authorities came up with the theory that Li Li fell in a gap between the apartment buildings.
