Funerals are typically filled with grief and sadness. Usually, relatives and friends cry as they accompany their loved one to their grave. Emmanuel Omana, a college student from Bulacan State University who passed away on July 2 due to leukemia had his dream memorial service granted.
Francis Miguel Englatera, one of Emmanuel’s friends shared in an interview with GMA News:
“From the burol itself gusto niya ganun ‘yung casket niya, gusto niya ganun ‘yung flowers, maraming flowers, gusto niya bongga ‘yung choir kapag inilibing siya, lahat natupad sa kanya.”
The young man has had his funeral all planned to the smallest detail. He knew what casket wanted and requested that there were many flowers. He wished for a grand choir and he wanted the event to be aired on television.

GMA News said that Emmanuel, who lost his battle with leukemia, has a naturally happy personality. He wanted to bring enjoyment though he was already gone.
Instead of slowly and solemnly walking, his friends danced and sang to “Dancing Queen” during the procession. With the number of attendees who participated in the event, it can be said the he was loved by many. Just like what he wished for, there were no tears and everyone was laughing and wearing smiles.
It was a bonus for the late young man that his funeral did get broadcast on national tv.

Another friend of Emmanuel expressed on a post on Facebook that what they did during the funeral procession was not for fun. They just did what the young man loved to do which was to make others happy. They were not mourning, but celebrating that he was finally in peace with God.
