Do you remember Lola Salvacion Cortabista, the 75-year-old passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 1 last May 2016 who was a victim of "tanim-bala"?

Did the Aquino administration or Commission on Human Rights attempted to help knowing it's primary function is to investigate all forms of human rights violations involving civil and political rights in the Philippines?

The one optimistic in helping these victims of "tanim-bala" victim is none other than, Public Attorney's Office chief Persida Rueda-Acosta.

The lawyer of Salvacion Cortabista, the senior citizen victimized by 'tanim-bala,' expressed optimism that her client's case against airport officials will not be dismissed.

A criminal complaint has been filed before the Pasay Prosecutors Office against a wheelchair attendant and two members of the Office of the Transportation Security (OTS) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 1 for allegedly planting a bullet in the bag of Lola Salvacion Cortabista, who was supposed to be on her way to the United States on April 19 to seek medical treatment along with her 78-year-old husband.

But where and what did Chairman Chito Gascon do?

Members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday ended debates on the 2018 budget of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and left it with just P1,000 for next year.

The CHR, which has been critical of the administration's war on drugs, had an original budget proposal of P623.38 million.

The Commission on Human Rights is an independent office created under the 1987 which is the adiministration of former President Corazon Aquino.

Did you all know that Chito Gascon, a Filipino lawyer, civil organizer, human-rights activist and he was the Director General of the Liberal Party from 2008-2011 and was Political Director of its successful 2010 National Electoral Campaign.

In 2015 he was appointed by President Benigno S. Aquino III as the Chair of the Human Rights Commission of the Philippines.

Did these made noise  and helped by Commission on Human Right during the Aquino administration?

Former President Benigno Aquino III denied he sent 44 police commandos to their deaths in an operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao two years ago.

The Mendiola massacre, also called Black Thursday by some Filipino journalists, was an incident that took place in Mendiola on January 22, 1987, in which state security forces violently dispersed a farmers' march to Malacañang Palace in protest of the lack of government action on land reform.

Kidapawan ‘Massacre:’ A repeated history

The scenario sounds familiar. It happened again before, several times. A hunger turned fear, a demand met with death. The smell of bloods running through the scorching and dusty ground spoke of one thing, violence.

For three days from March 30, 2016, thousands of farmers and their supporters blockaded the Davao-Cotabato Highway in Kidapawan, North Cotabato.

Is it time to sign a petition that Chairman Gascon should resign and we think the best person to fit the position is Atty. Acosta. Do you agree?
