Angelica Poquiz Yulo, mother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo, denied allegations that she stole from her son’s incentives from his gymnastics victories.
In an interview with 102.7 Star FM Manila on Sunday, Angelica stated that they do not spend all of Carlos’ earnings but admitted to taking a portion for investments.
“Dahil sa konsensya naming mag asawa, wala kaming ninakaw ng asawa ko na…wala kaming ninakaw, wala kaming ginalaw na pera niya, meron siguro portion na hindi man lang aaray ‘yung bulsa niya,” Angelica said.
“Kasi inano naman namin eh ininvest naman sa pabahay na para ano makita din niya, na puwede din niyang sabihin na, ‘Ah may remembrance ako sa pera ko,’” she added.
Angelica further said that she has taught all her children to allocate a portion of their incentives and earnings to investments that will last a long time.
“Kasi ‘yung ang sinasabi ko sa mga anak ko na every time na magkakaroon sila ng cash incentive, whether sa Palarong Pambansa or ano, na iinvest nila dun sa mga bagay na maalala nila,” Angelica said.
Angelica also stated in the interview that Carlos’ relationship with his younger siblings has also been strained.
“Even silang magkakapatid, close sila, pero after nung (mga) nangyari, parang, even ‘yung youngest ko sobrang malalim ‘yung galit na nararamdaman,” Angelica said. “‘Yung eldest ko medyo so-so lang.”
The relationship between Angelica Poquiz Yulo and her son Carlos has been strained, allegedly due to financial issues and Carlos’s girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.
