COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Police Department confirmed with WRBL on Thursday that a person was taken into custody in connection to a shooting that happened near Zelmo's Zip In and Shark's restaurant on Veterans Parkway.
According to CPD, 33-year-old Curtis Adams was arrested after he was injured in the shooting. He was taken into custody after being released from the hospital following a gunshot wound to the chest.

The incident happened on Sept. 11 when authorities responded to the shooting and surrounded the two establishments at the intersection of 13th Street around 9 p.m.
CPD confirmed with WRBL that a shootout happened between two men, and both were injured in the shooting. CPD says Adams was the aggressor in the shooting.
He is charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime.
Adams will make his first court appearance on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
