Since the May 2016 elections, the actor is known to be one of the most outspoken suporter of the current president. Robin Padilla fully supports Duterte's philisophies.
President Duterte granted an executive clemency to Padilla which will allow him to travel abroad and be with his wife and newly born baby.
The exclusive clemency was granted the same time when the passionate supporter paid a courtesy call to the President.
"I just granted the pardon in favor of Robin Padilla kasi 'yung original pardon niya hindi sinali 'yung full restoration political and civil rights, therefore he could not travel, could not get a permit to possess a gun again," the president stated in dinner with a few journalists.
In 1994, Padilla was found guilty of illegal possession of firearms. However, the former President Fidel Ramos granted the actor a pardon but his full civil and political rights weren't restored.
