This Widower Thought of a Heartwarming Way to Commemorate His Departed Wife. Find out What He Did for Her Here!


People have different ways in honoring the dead. There are some who paint a portrait of their deceased love one in honor of their memory while others choose to visit their grave often in order to feel as if they are still there. One man though chose to plant trees in honor of his dead wife.

Janet and Winston Howe were known as a couple who are so in love with each other. The pair got hitched in 1962 until Janet died due to a heart attack in 1995.

Obviously, this broke Winston’s heart. However, he thought up of a way to make his wife’s memory live on. In order to cope with the loss, he turned his attention to farming. He planted thousands of oaks saplings in the six-acre field he owned in their home at Wickwar, Gloucestershire in order to commemorate his wife.

The neighbors thought nothing of it until an aerial view of the field revealed to them a heart-shaped symbol hiding behind the trees.
