Ligo Sardines and Angkas, two of the country’s most viral companies amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, have teamed up to help frontline health workers kick the coronavirus’s a**.
The processed food manufacturer, which has been making waves online thanks to its catchy social media marketing and for extending assistance to frontliners by providing them with personal protective equipment (PPE), says it is now working with the motorcycle-taxi company to get its donations to those who need it most.
“We need to act faster. Our trucks are constantly being deployed for delivery, and while we will continue to do our best to distribute our products to those in need, we cannot do this alone,” Ligo sardines said in a statement shared over Facebook. Look:

“So, we reached out to Angkas to ensure faster distribution of PPEs to hospital with critical supplies.”
The company also added that it is currently in coordination with several hospitals and healthcare centers in need of PPEs. “Umpisa pa lang po ito ng bayanihan. Kaya natin ito,” the statement ends.

Ligo Sardines, which has been a staple in Filipino pantries for more than six decades, caught Pinoy netizens’ attention with its playful take on the government’s Bayanihan to Heal As One Act a few days ago. Angkas, meanwhile, delighted its customers and partners alike by opening a food delivery service with 100% of its fees going to its riders.
It’s encouraging to see that both companies aren’t just content with viral fame during this situation and are actually helping out.
