Pido Jarencio vows to apologize to Thomas Robinson: ‘Baka i-high five ko pa’

NorthPort Batang Pier team manager Pido Jarencio expressed willingness to apologize to NLEX Road Warriors reinforcement Thomas Robinson during a discussion with PBA commissioner Willie Marcial following their altercation on Wednesday.

As per a Spin.ph report, Jarencio mentioned that he has already apologized to Marcial.

“Tinawagan ko na si commissioner and nag-apologize na ako. Sinabi ko kung ano ‘yung mga nangyari, pero humingi pa rin ako ng paumanhin,” Jarencio said.

Jarencio engaged in a verbal tussle with Robinson on their way to the dugout after the Road Warriors defeated the Batang Pier, 112-104.

The UST Growling Tigers head coach clarified that he just stood up for team governor Eric Arejola.

“Hindi naman talaga ako kasama dun, e. Inaawat ko nga dahil salita pa siya ng salita. Tapos maya’t maya pati sa akin may sinasabi na,” Jarencio recalled.

Arejola and Robinson exchanged heated words in the third quarter of the NLEX-NorthPort match-up. The NorthPort team governor said that he was talking to the referees when Robinson suddenly talked trash to him.

Meanwhile, Jarencio also clarified that he was only joking when he told Robinson, “You are one bullet; I will shoot you later. Happy New Year.”

“Nag ‘Happy New Year’ pa nga ako sa kanya, ‘di ba,” he said.

Jarencio assured Marcial that he would extend an apology to the NLEX import as well.

“Kakamayan ko siya (Robinson) pag nagkita kami. Baka nga i-high five ko pa, e,” he added. (MJD)
