LeBron James solidifies “GOAT” status with another career milestone

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James made another case for being the NBA’s Greatest of All Time (GOAT) after reaching 39,000 career points on Wednesday.

James finished with 17 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds as the Lakers silenced the Utah Jazz, 131-99. James’ output was enough to achieve the scoring feat.

On Instagram, the 38-year-old forward posted a declaration that he is the GOAT.

“Top 2 and I’m not 2. 1 of 1!”, he wrote on his post.

James is the only player in NBA history to reach 39,000 career points. He can even reach 40,000, as he has yet to show signs of slowing down. James is averaging 25.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in his 21st NBA season.

Aside from the scoring category, James is bound to break more NBA records. Last week, he became the first player in league history to register 5,000 career turnovers. (MJD)
