Petro Gazz vows to maintain aggression against Creamline, says Brooke Van Sickle

The Petro Gazz Angels aim to sustain their aggressive play as they take on the Creamline Cool Smashers on the second day of the PVL 1st All-Filipino Conference single-round robin semifinals on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

According to Angels star hitter Brooke Van Sickle, they need to be aggressive and precise, considering that the Cool Smashers are one of the most efficient defensive teams in the league.

“They are very scrappy, they’re very good at defense, and they’re gonna put up a fight,” said Van Sickle, who had a team-high 21 points in the Angels’ win over the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Tuesday night.

“Coming to the (Creamline) game, just trying to stay aggressive,” she added. “Everyone wants it; everyone wants to win; everyone’s aggressive; I need to match that and continue to put in my full effort. That is the game plan. Just hit the ball hard.”

After securing their first win in the single-round robin semis, the Angels will have an opportunity to secure a finals seat by defeating the Cool Smashers, who may have Diana Carlos back in action.
Conversely, the Cool Smashers find themselves in a must-win situation against the Angels to keep their title defense alive, following their loss in the first game against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
