Leni Robredo Called For Donations For Marawi City Victims ? Or ?


"Let's help our fellow Filipinos who have been affected by the crossfires in Marawi City." - Office of the Vice President.




Vice President Leni Robredo has ordered her office to administer an immediate a relief operation for the Marawi victims.

"Inaasahan nating matatapos agad ang kaguluhang ito at kakailanganin ng ating mga kababayan ang agarang tulong. Dahil dito, nagbigay tayo ng derektiba sa ating opisina na maghanda ng relief operations para sa mga naapektuhan," VP stated.
[We are expecting for the conflict to end as soon as possible and our countrymen will be needing an immediate assistance. Consequently, we have given a directive to our office to prepare for relief operation for the ones who are affected.]

"Hinihikayat natin ang lahat ng sektor na may kakayahan na magbigay ng anumang tulong na tumugon sa lalong madaling panahon," she added.

[Translation: We encourage all sectors with the resource to provide any assistance as soon as possible.]

Those who are interested in donating are encouraged to donate in kind and cash.

Robredo and her the VP office were said to have coordinated with the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

"Buo ang ating loob sa kakayahan ng ating sandatahang lakas na maresolba ang sitwasyong ito. Sa ating pakikipag-ugnayan sa liderato ng AFP, tinitiyak nila na kontrolado nila ang sitwasyon at malulutas ito sa lalong madaling panahon," VP said.



[Translation: We are confident that our Armed Forces will be able to resolve the situation. In our interaction with the AFP, they gave us the assurance that the situation is under control and will be resolved as soon as possible.]

She also encouraged for people to pray for the people in Marawi to calm despite the danger.
[Let us pray together for our soldiers who are fighting for our people in Marawi. We also pray for our fellow Filipinos who were caught in the middle of the situation.]

"Huwag tayong matakot. Manindigan tayo. At magtiwala tayong mananaig ang kapayapaan."
[Let's not be scared and we must believe that peace will prevail.]

The Vice President received security briefing from the AFP on Wednesday about the situation.

Meanwhile, the President cut short his trip in Russia. He was able to convey important information to Russian President Vlademir Putin before he left to return in the country.
