Hontiveros labels President Duterte a "champion ng male sexism, chauvinism at misogny" for his so-called 3rd rape joke

Lady Senator Risa Hontiveros strikes at President Rodrigo Duterte for his latest 'rape joke' that is involving the Miss Universe, thus, labeling the President as a "champion of misogyny".

In their state of the nation address (SONA) parody 'So Ano Na' in the University of the Philippines Bahay ng Alumni, the senator said she and other women are running out reactions for the President's jokes.

"Nauubusan na kaming kababaihan ng horror, at saka pagreject sa ganyang klaseng kabastusan, sexism at misogyny at its worst," Hontiveros said.

Her statement was a reaction to Duterte's remarks about how he is condemning and will never tolerate raping children and joked that he will congratulate a rapist who have the balls to rap a Miss Universe.

Hontiveros said that Duterte is habitual jokes on things that is very detrimental to any women.

"Talagang nagiging incorrigible si Presidente sa paggamit ng isang pinakamasaklap na maaaring mangyari sa isang babae bilang isang simplistikong joke," she told the reporters in a press conference in UP Diliman campus.

"Nauubusan na kaming mga kababaihan ng horror at saka pag-reject sa ganyang klaseng kabastusan. Sexism and misogyny at its worst," she added.

Because of his remarks, Hontiveros called the President a "champion ng male sexism, chauvinism at misogny".

"Kailangang hindi maging joke ang panggagahasa at sa paulit-ulit na ganyang pagjo-joke tungo sa isang bagay na napakaseryoso at isang krimen at paglabag sa dignidad at karapatang pantao ng isang babae, lumalabas na si Presidente Duterte ay pinaka naging champion ng male sexism, chauvinism at misogny," Hontiveros claimed.

Back in his 2016 campaign, the President also joked about the Australian missionary who faced a very tragic death. Jacqueline Hamill was raped and killed during a prison riot in 1989 in Davao City.

"All the women there were raped in the first assault and they retreated, but the bodies the attackers used remained there, one of which was the body of an Australian lay minister. Tsk, this is a problem … . The body was brought outside and it was covered. I looked at her face, son of a b****… she looked like a beautiful actress in the United States," Duterte said.

"Son of a b****, what a waste. I was thinking that they raped her and lined up. I was angry because she was raped, that’s one thing. But she was so beautiful, the mayor should have been first, what a waste," he added.

His second 'rape joke' was during his speach before the soldiers deployed in Mindanao during martial law.

"Trabaho lang kayo. Ako na bahala. Ako na magpakulong sa inyo. Kapag naka-rape ka ng tatlo, aminin ko na akin ‘yun. ‘Pag nag-asawa ka ng pang-apat, bugbugin ka," the President said then.

Knowing how that the President is a joker and loves to breaks the ice during his speeches, we must understand that he meant no harm in all of his statements unless it is towards the drug addicts, pusher and drug lords who are ruining the youth of the Philippines.

People who are living up to their calling of lambasting and going against the President at all cost often overreacts to every word he says when he is just clearly joking.
