President Rodrigo Duterte wants errant government workers who were named through a complaint hotline to kneel before the public to vow not to repeat their mistakes.

“Itong gobyerno, just give me the whole month of July and for those people who are named publicly in the 888[8] bulletin board, I would like to have a talk with you sa… individually if I can, until morning time… Because, you there, you resign or get out from your authority if you cannot get out of government service or I resign. Ako ang mag-give up,” he said.

“But I’ll try to make a second, not really a desperate move. But you have to kneel down before the public and you have to promise the people that we are serving that you have to improve on your service,” he added.

He also reprimanded government employees for making people go back to their offices many times to process requests without considering the “horrendous” Manila traffic. He also hit out at agencies asking to purchase thousands of computers everyday without giving quality public service.

“‘Yan ang mahirap sa mga taga-gobyerno. T— ina ninyo. Ganoon kayo eh,” he added.

“Report to me the name. Name the employee publicly. I will protect you. Gusto mo sipain o sampalin ko pa ‘yang empleyado sa gobyerno na messing up with you,” he said.

Duterte reiterated his advice to the public to assert their rights and complain about the government employees who were giving them a hard time.
