The 60’s was a critical decade for the Philippine government as it was still recovering from being conquered by different foreign lands. The lack of peace and order enabled criminals to do their business and some even became famous or rather, infamous for their actions.

1. Asiong Salonga
The “Hari ng Tondo” is known for his connection to multiple associations with robberies, murders, and extortion rackets. On the contrary to his criminal status, he is adored by his neighborhood. Like the famous Robin Hood, he shares the money that he gets with the poor. Salonga died at the age of 27 when she was shot by a stranger while drinking with friends.
2. Arturo Porcuna
“Boy Golden,” Arturo Porcuno was famous at his time for getting tangled in numerous vicious gang clashes. He was on the most wanted criminals list in the Philippines. He lost his life when a police man shot him in his own house. As a highly influential character his death received a lot of media attention.

3. Benjamin Garcia
“Ben Tumbling” got his name from being a former stunt man. He hated the police with passion and was famous for targeting them and murdering them. The hatred came from being beaten up by a cop as well as his wife being raped by one. His skills in doing stunts helped him escape authorities, but his luck only lasted until he was killed in an ambush when he was 23.
4. Marcial Ama Perez
Baby Ama was sent to jail when he robbed someone for money to pay for a friend’s studies. He experienced torture from fellow detainees while inside the Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City. What fueled this man to do the evil things he did was when his wife's death at her own hands after being allegedly raped by a prison guard. Following the incident, Perez planned many riots inside Bilibid, including one of the most violent and bloody prison riots in Bilibid's history.

5. Leonardo Mencio
Nardong Putik was popular because of his amulet or agimat that many thought was the reason why he couldn’t be caught by authorities. He was killing political personalities in the 60’s and like Asiong, shares his wealth with the financially incapable. He died after being shot 60 times in a gun battle with the NBI.
6. Warlito Toledo
Wayway is responsible for several rape and murder cases within Cebu City. According to citizens, this man sexually abused and killed 40 women a day. Shockingly, no one filed a case against him. What triggered him to do such crimes was the alleged rape of his wife. Till present, Toledo is on the loose and it is unknown if he is still breathing or not.
