The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be auctioning over a hundred unclaimed vehicles parked in their impounding centers by the end of this month.
In a statement posted online, the MMDA listed around 153 vehicles located in their Ultra, Pasig City and Tumana, Marikina City impounding centers that will be soon up for auction.
Owners can still reclaim their impounded vehicles if they settle corresponding fines at the agency’s Makati City headquarters on or before August 29. But starting 2 p.m. that day, vehicles that remain unclaimed will be auctioned off.
The vehicles will be sold on an “as is where is” basis with proceeds going to the MMDA’s general fund. The list includes various vehicles from PUVs, cars, vans, trucks, a handful of Tamaraw FXs, an Isuzu Crosswind and an unspecified Mercedes Benz vehicle.
Interested individuals should first submit a letter of intent to the MMDA’s Office of the Auction Committee by August 9. Qualified bidders will be contacted by the MMDA and will have to pay a non-refundable bidding fee of P1,000.
This is all part of the MMDA’s efforts to make room for recently apprehended vehicles in their impounding centers.
