SAD STORY! This domestic helper is watching her employer who is eating all by herself!

If you think living and working in a different country is hard, then you are definitely right. The fact that you have to deal with different people with different culture and values than Filipinos is a sacrifice itself.



Blessie Barbosa Beralde posted a specific example of the difference between the employer and the OFW working for her. She first-hand witnessed a scene of how how an employer treated a Filipino worker, in a fast food in Singapore.

Beralde was in queue to buy herself a breakfast when she saw a domestic helper who was seated beside a woman who seemed to be her employer, sadly, the Filipino worker was watching the woman eat.

She wanted to reach out and give her some food but felt hesitant thinking she might make the employer angry with her kind gesture.

She wrote on her post, "Asan ng hustisya sa mga Singaporean employers?" [Where is justice to these Singaporean employers?]

"... ganito po ang buhay sa abroad na parang akala ng lahat eh masasarap ang pagkain na kinakain d2 na hindi nila alam di ka kumakain.." she wrote.

This scenario may be nothing compared to other Overseas Filipino Worker issues out there, but if anyone with a sane mind would see this, it is really very alarming.

People workd hard to meet their employees wants and needs but their efforts are not always rewarded or returned fairly.



It's such a sad thing to see that this is the reality not only to OFWs in Singapore but to other countries as well.  The difference of their status in the society can be easily differentiated with just a single glance.

Others think that the lives fo every OFW abroad is similar to winning the jackpot price in a lottery. Well, with all the news about the abuses and harassments towards OFWs, that doesn't seem to be the reality unless the Filipino worker gets assigned to good and considerate employers.
