With no further doubts, the 17th Congress granted the request of the 16th and current President Rodrigo Duterte to extend martial law in Mindanao until the end of the year.
The President's request received an overwhelming support from the results of the joint voting of the members of the Congress on Saturday.
From the side the of the Senators, 16 voted 'yes' while only 4 voted 'no'. While from the members of the House of Representatives, 245 voted 'yes' while only 14 voted 'no'.
