Filipino billiards ace Anton Raga advanced to the finals of the European Open Pool Championship by bringing down Germany’s Joshua Filler at Hotel Esperanto, Fulda, Germany.
Raga was trailing Filler by four racks, 6-2, in the race-to-11 match but was able to turn things around by seizing a 9-7 lead in their semifinals match.
Filler eventually caught up and tied the game 9-all, but Raga was the steadier cue artist and cleaned out the last two racks.
He will battle David Alcaide of Spain, who booted out American Shane Van Boening.
It was Alcaide’s first Matchroom final since winning the 2019 World Pool Masters.
