The National University Lady Bulldogs and the Adamson University Falcons clinched championship titles in the women’s and men’s volleyball events, respectively, at the 2024 University Games (UniGames) on Friday night in Dipolog City.
The Lady Bulldogs captured the women’s division championship after defeating the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in straight sets, 25-19, 25-12, and 25-18, in the one-game finale.
Veterans Mhicaela Belen, Alyssa Solomon, Camille Lamina, and Erin Pangilinan spearheaded the attack for the Lady Bullpups as they capped off their campaign in the tournament without a loss.
The Falcons, on the other hand, bagged the crown in the men’s division after a come-from-behind 21-25, 25-16, 25-12, and 25-17 victory over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the finals.
Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses clinched the women’s beach volleyball crown after defeating the UP Fighting Maroons in two sets in their tightly contested finale.
UST, however, fell short of sweeping the UniGames beach volleyball titles after bowing to the University of San Agustin of Iloilo City in the men’s division finals.
