Grand Theft Auto VI confirmed for fall 2025 release

Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI remains on schedule for a Fall 2025 launch.

Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the update while discussing the company’s third-quarter fiscal results on Thursday.

“Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11, Mafia: The Old Country in the summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the fall, and Borderlands 4,” Zelnick said in a report by Bleacher Report’s Paul Kasabian.

Take-Two owns Rockstar Games, which has published the Grand Theft Auto series since 1997. Expectations for GTA VI are sky-high, given the massive success of GTA V.

According to GamesBeat’s Dean Takahashi, GTA V has sold over 210 million copies worldwide. IGN’s Jordan Sirani ranks it as the third-best-selling game of all time, trailing only Tetris and Minecraft.

The first GTA VI trailer, released in December, confirmed a 2025 launch window.

With GTA V now 12 years old, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installment. Fortunately, the wait is almost over.
