Petro Gazz Angels team captain Mary Remy Palma described their 15-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-19, and 15-13 triumph over the Creamline Cool Smashers as a valuable learning experience as they progress in the PVL 1st All-Filipino Conference.
Palma emphasized that the lessons learned from defeating the defending champions will be crucial for the entire team in their upcoming matches as well as in the playoff round.
“Every win namin sa kanila is masarap sa pakiramdam kasi magandang learning experience. Palagi naming babaunin and ‘yung mga lapses ‘yun ‘yung pupunuan namin (sa practices),” Palma said.
“Hindi namin pwedeng ilagay sa ulo masyado itong panalo na ito kasi tapos na eh, ang magandang gawin namin is baunin namin ‘yung experiences na nakuha namin from this game and I-apply namin sa next games namin,” she added.
The former Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws standout also said that a team facing the Cool Smashers should have a different mindset and must have a near-perfect game to pull off a victory.
“Ako, the past four years, (kapag) kalaban namin sila, iba dapat ‘yung mindset. Dapat ‘yung pinakamagandang game mo, ‘yung ipakita mo kasi lahat sila babantayan mo, lahat sila pwedeng maka-score,” Palma said.
“Patibayan talaga ng puso kapag kalaban mo ang Creamline, kailangan matibay talaga ang puso mo, kailangan na mentally tough ka, kailangan na ready ka palagi,” she added.
“Kung pwede mo lang baunin ang lahat pati cabinet eh, kasi, nakakatawa man, pero ganun ang kailangan mong mindset,” she further said. “Lahat ng teams naman ganun ang mina-mindset kapag kalaban ang Creamline, lahat naman gustong manalo.”
Currently, the Angels are tied with the Cool Smashers with a 6-2 win-loss record in the standings.
