Lagman: Dismissal of impeach rap vs. Duterte premature

A veteran official said the expulsion of the last's reprimand dissension against President Rodrigo Duterte was “premature,” with a disregard for rules.

Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman said the House board of trustees on equity ought not have been focused on requesting proof since the hearing was just to decide the dissension's adequacy in shape and substance.

“Even in a criminal proceeding, hindi kailangang i-attach immediately ‘yung mga evidence or information. There is a stage of pre-trial. That is the time when the parties are required to submit their documentary evidence and tell the court kung sino ang testigo nila,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

“Hindi pa tayo umaabot do’n because we were not in the stage of determining probable cause. Sufficiency in form and substance lang ‘yung pinag-uusapan,” he added.

Lagman twitted Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas, who had flame broiled Alejano over his "absence of individual information" in the claims expressed in the grievance.

“What the Majority Leader did was outside the periphery of [the proceedings], which was premature. And I think he knows it,” he said.

Lagman and Alejano are a piece of the "Magnificent 7"independent minority bloc at the House

At Monday's Hearing, Lagman over and again went to his partner's protection, requesting that the board give him "the chance to be listened."

The long-lasting lawmaker trusted that Alejano's dissension was adequate in both frame and substance
