Trillanes hits Duterte for his Absence during Independence Rites at Luneta Park "Walang disiplina sa katawan"

Senator Antonio Trillanes once again strikes President Rodrigo Duterte with a nonsensical criticism.

The senator criticizes the Philippine president for not being able to attend Independence day rites held at Luneta Park on Monday. His statements were given during an interview at the Defend Democracy Summit (DDS) in UP Diliman.

"Dito mo makikita na wala siyang pakialam, wala siyang halaga na ibinibigay dito sa very important event sa kasaysayan ng bansa. Ano ba naman ‘yung bumangon ka nang maaga? Kita mo, walang kadisi-disiplina ‘to sa katawan itong mama na ‘to, kaya I’m very, very frustrated and disappointed na siya ‘yung presidente natin," Trillanes told reporters.

[This is where you'll see that does not care, he has no value of the very important part of the country's history. What's so hard about waking up early? You see, this man has no discipline in his body. I’m very, very frustrated and disappointed that he is our president.]

Because of the president's absense at the rites, Robredo being the incumbent vice president, led the Independence Day rites at Luneta in place of him.

President Duterte's absence was announced by Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella minutes before the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies at the Rizal Park began.

Apparently, Duterte was too tired from staying up late and Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, who represented him at the occassion explained why.

"You know the President has been working 24/7, meeting the troops, meeting the commanders, and then late last night, visiting the wounded and mga namatay. So that's why this morning, he didn't feel that well," the Defense Secretary said to the media after he joined VP Leni Robredo in the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies.

[You know the President has been working 24/7, meeting the troops, meeting the commanders, and then late last night, visiting the wounded and those who were killed. So that's why this morning, he didn't feel that well.]

"Nothing to worry about, but it's better for him to rest muna this morning kasi as you know the target was to liberate Marawi today, June 12,"

[Nothing to worry about, but it's better for him to rest first this morning, because as you know the target was to liberate Marawi today, June 12.]

Before the said rites, the president went to Villamor Air Base in Pasay City to see the fallen soldiers who died in the clashes in Marawi. But before that, he also went to pay a visit to the wounded heroes of Marawi City siege in Camp Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City.

Foreign Affairs Secretary also stated that the president was very tired and sleepless. He received a call from a presidential staff around 6 AM to inform him about the president's absence.

"I talked to his people and inquired, sabi ano, 'No problem, he's okay but tired and doesn't feel that well, so better to rest,'" he added.

Due to Duterte's plans of attending more important matters for Mindanao now that one of it's province's city is in a crisis, the traditional  Independence Day Vin d'Honneur was cancelled as announced by the Malacañang.

"Precisely, why he's resting, at hindi siya nagpilit na magising kasi napakahirap na dalawa, tatlong oras lang tulog mo and then you're going to handle [Marawi crisis]," he said.

[Precisely, why he's resting, he did not force himself to wake up because having only 2 or 3 hours of sleep and then you're going to handle (Marawi crisis).]

"Ang ano ng Pangulo is he doesn't feel like giving a toast kahit symbolic na namamatay ang mga sundalo, na iyong mga evacuees, mga displaced, nasa  probinsya, nasa tabi ng Marawi. So really intended to focus, almost a hundred percent of his time, on resolving not only the Marawi situation but also the situation in the whole Mindanao," he added.

[The point of the President is that he he doesn't feel like giving a toast although the deaths of the soldiers , the evacuees, the displaced residences in the provinces besides Marawi is symbolic. So really intended to focus, almost a hundred percent of his time, on resolving not only the Marawi situation but also the situation in the whole Mindanao.]

Duterte's absence shouldn't be made a big deal unlike #MemaTrillanes is struggling to imply. You should at least let VP Leni work, instead of endless publicity propagandas. Photo shoot here, photo shoot there. Ugh! It never ends.

The president is working 24/7 despite being in his 70's. He never falter from any threat the country is facing. He is the coolest and responsible president Philippines ever had.
