Christina Salak is set to make a comeback to the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws just in time for the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament starting this weekend.
In a Wednesday night post on FEU’s official Facebook page, it was announced that Salak would take on the role of team consultant under interim head coach Manolo Refugia.
“As we prepare for the start of the #UAAPSeason86 volleyball season, we are happy to welcome back Coach Tina Salak who will serve as Consultant for the FEU Women’s Volleyball Team. #GoFEU #BeBrave” FEU wrote.
Salak served as the head coach of the Lady Tamaraws in UAAP Season 85 last year, guiding the team to a fifth-place finish with a 6-8 win-loss record.
Before her coaching role with the Lady Tamaraws, Salak mentored the De La Salle Zobel Junior Lady Spikers in the UAAP high school girls’ volleyball tournament.
Currently, Salak will additionally take on the role of assistant coach to Akari Power Chargers’ interim coach Raffy Mosuela in the upcoming Premier Volleyball League season.
Salak boasts a remarkable playing career, being a two-time UAAP champion with the Lady Tamaraws and securing multiple titles in Shakey’s V-League and the Philippine Superliga.
