In 2014, a man named Matthew Williams murdered a young shopworker while he was high on cocaine.
After Williams met Cerys Yemm, 22, at a bar, he invited her to Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Caerphilly, South Wales where the horrific incident took place.
According to reports, Williams assaulted Yemm and ate almost half of her face. Some witnesses testified that he looked like he was in ‘zombie’ state while committing the crime. After bursting in, the hotel security staff saw Williams eating Yemm’s eyeballs.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and tasered Williams. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to save the poor woman.
Williams was then brought to the hospital but became unresponsive, probably the effect of the illegal drug intake. He died in police custody afterward.
Prior to the incident, Williams apparently served five years in prison after assaulting another woman. He served another half of five-year sentence after violently attacking his ex-partner. He then stayed at B&B hotel, which used to be a hostel for homeless people and recently released lawbreakers.
It turns out that Williams was not being monitored after being released in prison two weeks after his release from the five-year sentence for attacking his former girlfriend.
Local authorities have been investigating the last hours of Yemm. Some of her friends told the police that the two only met for the first time hours before the grave crime and offered to get her a taxi home.
