NABULILYASONG PAGTAKAS : Sister of the Maute brothers arrested at Iloilo port

Sister of the notorious Maute brothers, Omarkhayam and Abdullah, was arrested on ship at the Iloilo port on Sunday at 3 PM.



However, Capt. Leopoldo Panopio, Coast Guard commander in Northern Mindanao is still keeping the her identity confidential but he stated that the sister was on board of a 2GO's MV St. Therese of the Child Jesus but she was first seen at the Cagayan de Oro port on Saturday and was found out the sister used a fake identity.

"Pagpasok sa pier ng Northern Mindanao sa CDO, medyo hindi nakuha ang pagkakakilanlan dahil hindi kawangis ng larawan [wanted list portray]," Panopio said. As soon as the sister's identity was confirmed, Panopio and his men immediately rushed to the port.

"Bago makadaong sa pantalan ay sinalubong na namin para makuha," he said.

One of the companions was identified to be Miks Jadid Romato, who is also on the wanted list of Maute members, had his leg recently amputated.

The military stated that they are still verifying information that Omar and Madie, another Maute brother, were one of the local terror group members kille during the conflict in Marawi City.

Meanwhile, authorities were able to arrest 13 alleged members of the Maute militant group in a hospital within Pagadian City.

Regional police director Chief Supt. Billy Beltran stated that they were notified by hospital staff. There were two wounded and injured from the gunfight and along with them were three women.



Suspects were identified as Junaid Dimarugong, who is in critical condition; Racma Macatuon Talib, Cosnia Talib, Yusoph Taha Halil, Sapacan Sabar Talib, Mansawi Imam Gumobat, Amerodin Capga Ameril, Lambo Ampaso Ameril, Huwarda Macatuon Talib, Sanabae Saliling Macatuon, Dima Ampaso Ali, Halil Saliling Ali and Alanoden Macatuon Dimarugong.

Zamboanga del Sur provincial police director Supt. Sofronio Elcadre confirmed that two of them were were positive of gunpowder burns in a paraffin test, they were Junaid Dimarugong and Halil Ali.

Last week, Mohammad Noaim Maute, alias Abu Jadid was also nabbed in Cagayan de Oro City. Jadid is the cousin of the Maute brothers leading the terrorist group.

Jadid was indicted for rebellion by the Department of Justice and was arrested under the Department of National Defense which is the martial law implementer.

So far, the Armed Forces of the Philippines stated that 242 Maute militants were killed during the clashes while 26 civilians 59 soldiers and policemen killed in the clashes.

The conflict started on May 23 which forced President Rodrigo Duterte to put the entire island of Mindanao under martial law.
