Just recently, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reported that they have lost the accreditation papers of both Grab and Uber companies.

However, a report from Rappler revealed that the government agency announced the loss of the accreditation letters for both Grab and Uber. LTFRB board member Aileen Lizada stated on Friday, July 21, 2017 that they cannot find the documents upon arrival at their office.
"Pagpasok po namin diyan sa opisina namin, for the record, nawala po ang accreditation papers ng Uber and Grab," Lizada told the media.
The said statement was made by Lizada in an interview with the radio station, DZMM. In a text message that Lizada sent to Rappler, she said that they tried to find the documents but to no avail.
"Ever since we assumed office, hinanap namin. Wala," the text that Lizada send stated.
Lizada said that former LTFRB executive director Roberto Cabrera should have the accreditation documents but Cabrera denied and said it was not with him. Former LTFRB board member Ariel Inton said that it is very unlikely for the documents in their office to be lose.
However, Inton was reported to have said that the situation can easily be solved.
"Inton said former LTFRB legal counsel Robert Peig worked with the current board during the members' "first few months" in office, so they can ask for his help. He added that the LTFRB can ask Grab and Uber for new copies of the accreditation requirements if necessary," stated a report.
The source of the said report stated that Grab's own accreditation documents expired on July 3, 2017, while that of Uber's is about to expire on August, although no specific date was mentioned.
Uber and Grab were also both informed of the loss of their accreditation papers and were asked of their own statements on LTFRB and regarding the loss. However, both companies, Grab and Uber has neither released any statements on the issue.
In a report from ABS-CBN News, Lizada revealed that they also want to find the papers to also review the information that it has inside.
"We want to know nasaan ang accreditation papers nila kasi doon namin makikita nasaan ang business design nila, what did they submit, ano ba talaga ang kanilang proposal, how they will go about their business. Hindi po namin makita and papeles na iyun," Lizada shared.
The issue on the loss of Uber and Grab's accreditation papers came during the heat of another issue regarding LTFRB's decision to allow the operations of both transport services due to public demand. Earlier, LTFRB has suspended operations of Uber and Grab vehicles without franchise and made the two companies pay P5 million for violating some rules on franchise.
After the suspension, the public complained and demanded for Uber and Grab to be brought back, which the LTFRB allowed albeit temporarily.
