Are you still waiting on your barangay’s quarantine pass so you can head out to buy supplies during the COVID-19 enhanced quarantine period? We have some good news for you if you’re a Pasig City resident.
Pasig mayor Vico Sotto says residents do not need a quarantine pass to move around provided they are only doing so within the city’s jurisdiction. The official took to Facebook to clarify the issue, saying he has consulted the Philippine National Police regarding the matter. Look:

“We do not need quarantine passes within Pasig jurisdiction,” Sotto said, adding that the pass is an unnecessary requirement that further complicates the situation.
“Exemptions in strict home quarantine are clear. Let's not add the requirements anymore. This will be an additional person-to-person contact and waiting time (instead of being able to go to the store quickly, buy food, and go home soon).”
Sotto expressed his sentiments further, tagging the quarantine pass as “useless” because authorities will still ask an individual's purpose for being out whether or not he or she has one.
“Another one, the one per household quarantine pass is useless for the whole quarantine period, because police or barangay will still ask what is their purpose for going out of the house,” he said.
“Let's just make it simple... if not for work, medical, or to buy food/supplies... stay home.”
