Davison, Van Sickle excited to join Alas Pilipinas

Savannah Davison and Brooke Van Sickle are looking forward to donning the Alas Pilipinas national women’s volleyball team jerseys following the team’s historic bronze medal finish in the AVC Challenge Cup for Women.

Davison expressed her excitement about the prospect of representing the country soon and is eagerly awaiting the completion of her federation switch process from Canada to the Philippines.

“It would be surreal to represent the Philippines,” Davison said in an article posted on PVL’s website. “Representing any country is a huge achievement, but representing a country where the support and love for the game reach different heights is something you can only dream of.”

“I am super grateful to even be having these conversations about maybe being a part of the National Team. Hopefully, it will allow some opportunities for learning more about Philippine volleyball,” added the PLDT High Speed Hitters star.

Van Sickle, who is in the process of switching from the United States to the Philippines, stated that it will be an honor to be part of Alas Pilipinas, which has not achieved a podium finish in nearly two decades.

“It’s definitely an honor to be able to represent the Philippines, for sure. We’re still working things out; I’m just doing what I’m told. But it will be an honor for sure,” Van Sickle said.

“I would be super grateful to be able to represent this country, and I will welcome it with open arms. I’ll work hard,” added the Petro Gazz Angels rookie. “I think I and Savannah are just waiting to hear what comes next.”

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation has previously stated that they are aiming to complete Davison and Van Sickle’s federation switch before the annual transfer window closes in June.
