In 1896, there was a doll that belonged to a kid named Robert Eugene Otto. His family lived in Key West, Florida. The doll was given to him by a servant who was rumored to practice dark magic and hated his kin.
This creepy doll inspired the classic horror film ‘Chucky’.
Robert learned to adore the doll and, as other servants witnessed, he would often talk to it. They eventually grew concerned about the boy. Eventually, they too could hear voices coming from the toy, talking back to Robert. Their neighbors even claimed to witness the doll moving from window to window when no one was home.
Soon enough, the doll began causing a mess inside the Otto household. Young Robert became frightened since he wasn’t the one causing the mischief, but the household staff and his family members believed it was him.

Decades passed and Robert grew old. He inherited the house but died in 1972. It was then sold to another family. The new owners reportedly had a little girl who found the possessed doll in the attic. Normally, kids would be overjoyed upon seeing toys. However, the little girl got frightened by the doll because she said it was alive and threatened to kill her.
The doll was then acquired by an art gallery/historical museum in Key West. Up until today, the doll is still on display, and visitors learned the strange habit of asking for permission before taking a picture of it — or else risk being cursed by the creepy doll.
While most people who visited the cursed doll shrugged off the ‘bad omens’ associated with it, saying it’s just a childhood fantasy, some claimed to have heard footsteps emanate from where it’s kept. The gallery receives letters from people who claimed that they encountered bad luck after seeing the creepy doll. Rumors claim the cursed doll causes divorces, accidents, and even deaths.
