Take the case of Nicole, 21 years old and a mother of two. She was healthy, until she complained of headaches and dizziness, with bouts of blurred vision and memory gaps. Her family brought her to a hospital to have her checked.
After a series of CT scans and laboratory tests, the doctors diagnosed Nicole with a stage 4 brain cancer.
According to her sister Jenna, the tumor found in Nicole’s brain was a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), a highly malignant tumor. Nicole’s family didn’t have a history of cancer, and she was the first one to have it. Jenna realized that her sister loved to eat processed meat like hotdog, longganisa, and tocino, and instant noodles. She enjoys candies, chocolates, and carbonated drinks.
Jenna ended her post with a warning to avoid processed as much as possible. She also advised people to be more careful with what they eat and exposure to stress and gadgets. There are numerous studies about cancer and its relation to food consumption, but no direct correlation was established yet.
