Ateneo Blue Eagles have ‘balls don’t lie’ moment in UAAP loss to Adamson Falcons

UAAP fans believed that the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles experienced their “balls don’t lie” moment during their 74-71 overtime loss to the Adamson University Falcons in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament last Saturday.

Viewers of the game noticed instances where the referees appeared to favor the Blue Eagles, including in the final seconds of overtime when Ateneo’s Sean Quitevis was not called for a foul against Adamson’s Matthew Montebon.

However, the Falcons received what some called “divine justice” when the Blue Eagles’ Mason Amos missed two crucial free throws, and Adamson’s Vince Magbuhos sealed the victory with a buzzer-beating, game-winning triple.

Consequently, the Falcons secured their second victory in three matches, while the defending champion Blue Eagles fell to a 1-2 win-loss record.
