The NxLed Chameleons are reportedly tapping the services of Chinese volleyball coach Chen Gang to be their mentor ahead of the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on July 16.
According to a report on the Abante website, Chen has been training the Chameleons for several weeks now and has developed a good working relationship with the NxLed players.
Chen is a veteran volleyball coach in China who recently led the Bayi Youth Men’s Volleyball Team to remarkable victories in the Chinese Volleyball League.
Before he became a volleyball coach, Chen was a member of the Chinese men’s volleyball team that captured the 1979 Asian Championship crown. He was also given a “Best Blocking Award” in that tournament.
The Chameleons came off an eighth-place finish in the 2024 PVL 1st All-Filipino Conference, winning four of their 11 elimination round matches.
