Bea De Leon celebrates Creamline’s tough win over Cignal

Bea De Leon expressed her joy after the Creamline Cool Smashers’ hard-earned win against the Cignal HD Spikers, emphasizing how challenging it is to face the team.

Creamline relied on their experience in the fifth set to secure a 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 15-9 victory over Cignal in the PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference on Saturday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

“Super saya namin lalo na after winning against Cignal. Obviously, it was a hard-earned battle, sobrang… lagi na lang kapag kaharap namin ang Cignal, hindi ka talagang puwedeng mag kahit anong lapse. So we’re just really happy to be here right now. We’re just so happy na nakuha namin ang win today,” De Leon, who scored 12 points in the game, said in a #PVLExclusive interview.

De Leon also praised Ishie Lalongisip for her remarkable improvement since college and expressed how happy she is to see Ishie thriving with Cignal. Lalongisip scored 19 points in the game.

“She’s improved so much. Grabe, I saw her in the UAAP and grabe ang inimprove niya sa Cignal, and I’m so happy for her that she also found a home in Cignal,” she said.

Bernadeth Pons stepped up with 27 points on 24 attacks, two service aces, and a block to go with 14 excellent digs as the Cool Smashers stretched their unbeaten run to seven games.

After failing to close out the HD Spikers in the third and fourth sets, the Cool Smashers started strong in the fifth frame behind Pons, De Leon, Jeanette Panaga, and Jessica Galanza for a 9-5 start.

The HD Spikers still tried to keep the match close at 9-12, but the Cool Smashers responded with an attack from Diana Carlos, an error by Cignal’s Vanessa Gandler, and a down-the-line hit from Pons to close the match.

The HD Spikers, on the other hand, dropped to a 5-3 record with the defeat.
