Recoverd Video of a Maute Gunman Fires a Battle Tank with an RPG Launcher

A video was recovered by a media organization showing how a Maute gunman fired an armored vehicle with a rocket-propelled grenade.

The video was taken on the firs day the clashes began in Marawi City between the terrorist Maute group and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The gunman carrying a rocket-propelled grenade aimed at the armored personnel carrier and hit it with the rocket.

According to exclusive reports by the media, the video was taken by a Marawi City resident during clashes at the outlying districts of the city.

The broadcast states that the militants weren't Maranao and some were heard speaking in Filipino/Tagalog.

The Maute member held the RPG launcher he pointed directly afar from the armored personnel carrier which blown up the APC creating  smoked clouding the view of the APC.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa has confirmed that the terrorist group took possession on one of their tanks in Marawi.

"Totoo 'yun. That's, isa 'yan sa object of recovery. Kailangan ma-recover natin 'yun. But 'yun nga, dahan-dahan munang kini-clear para makapag-recover," Gen. Bato said in an ambush interview in Marawi.

The tank was meant for reinforcement to police who were assigned at the provincial headquarters but was unfortunately ambushed by the Maute terrorist group.

"Nalaglag 'yun while on their way to reinforce 'yung kapitolyo from the provincial headquarters. Na-landmine sila, na-ambush," he said. "Then nung in-ambush, nasira 'yung gulong ng isa. Naiwan sila. Nagkahiwalay. Nung nagkahiwalay, iba 'yung napuntahan ng isa hanggang sa nalaglag sa canal so hindi na makapag maneuver. Wounded na 'yung mga crew," the general added.

Thankfully, all personnel inside the SAF tank were all alive.

Regarding the beheaded policeman, Sr. Insp. Freddie Solar, which the president said in a statement, Dela Rosa negated what he said stating the information provided were raw, uncomfirmed.

"May mga reports na 'yun una, 'yung raw information nakarating na si Sr. Insp. Solar pinugutan. But nung na-recover 'yung katawan niya, hindi naman pala. 'Yun 'yung nakarating kay Presidente na impormasyon. Later on, hindi naman pala napugutan," Dela Rosa stated.

But there are policemen trapped in Marawi City and Gen. Dela Rosa is yet to contact the local authorities.

The battle between Maute terrorist and the government authorities started on May 23 in Marawi City when symphatizers set up some attacks.
